JUDGMENTAL PART ONE:

There should be a partition in ones mind between a religion and its adherent. I don't think it is wise to "equate" them both together. Because, religion followers are of different individuals. Some might be of good believers, some might be rebels. They come from many different environmental backgrounds. For example, One shouldn't say Islam is bad just because a group of Muslim men went on a killing rampage at a park. Islam does not promote violence.First of, killing (not in war); in Islamic teaching, is not allowed- PROHIBITED. So where's the connection between Islamic teachings and the crazy Muslim men? Nada! To me I see Islam in these aspects: JUST, RESPECTFUL, AND PEACEFUL. If it violates any of those three main things, i dont consider them teachings of Islam.


JUDGMENTAL PART TWO:

It doesn't mean that a Muslim with a beard as long as an elephant's trunk is better than another Muslim guy who pierces his ear. Who says that a girl wearing tshirt and jeans will go to hell and the woman covered all up with a black abaya will go to heaven? Who says? Who says? Tell me who says that..?( ooohh... Who says who says youre not purdy who says youre not beautiful who says...nananananananana -Selena Gomez) :P .


There's a story about a man who performs zina (adultery), and known for his huge alcohol drinking problem and theft. One day he passed on,no one came to the funeral except for his wife. Everyone else's despised him ans said he'll rot in hell. Suddenly an aalim, a very religious man came to his funeral. *Awkward moment.....*. The confused aalim then went to the dead mans wife and talked to her.

The Aalim: K... so i heard this man drinks, sleeps around and commits theft.

The wife : Myeah.. ?

The Aalim: Yeah, so its like last night I had a dream that I should attend and pay respect at his funeral...

The wife: Mkay.. ?

The Aalim: Pfft.. So, what gives?

The wife : Well, one thing bout him is every morning, he never misses his Subuh prayers at the masjid with other jamaah. And when he prays he will ask for forgiveness and only God knows how he's really sincere about it.


The moral of the story is, God sees beauty in a different way than we do. What matters most is if the heart is clean and pure. You may pray 5 times a day but you don't invite others to pray with you or advice them to pray. Coz you only want yourself to look good. And the others look like sinners. Stinky heart you got there. So whats the point bro?

The People of the Cave PART 2

Continuation from previous post...



So as years gone by, they slept their way till 309 years later. During their nap, they've past the time when Prophet Isa A.S (Jesus) was sent down to spread the teaching of Allah.


So, after that one long nap, they woke up and started feeling hungry. Neither of them was aware that they've slept for so many years. They start questioning one another, "how long have we slept"? Some answered maybe a day, and some answered maybe half a day. And finally they agreed to just live it to God saying "only God knows how long we've slept" -but still have no clue that they are already "ancients" by now... And so, like normal people(tho they are not so normal), they've gotten hungry. So, they appointed one of them to go to the town to get food. But he must be careful that no one follows him back or they will all be killed by King Decius. (I forgot who went, I think its Thamlika...please recheck, tried to but couldnt find it..thank you)**


So carefully, he went to town. However, he recognized not anyone nor the place. Its like everything's new to him. (Okay starting this point I'm cutting the story short cz some things are getting kinda blurry, and I prefer to keep it short so they'd be less faults- if there's any...... so, bismillah >.<) . So he went to buy some food but the money he used was unrecognizable. He insisted to use his money but everyone refused to take it. And he was like, "this is the coin used in any King Decius ruling, is he not the King?" And the sales guy didnt know what he was talking about and because of the commotion made, Thamlika** was brought to the King.


Thamlika** then told his whole story to the King about his background and about King Decius and how he made everyone worship him and such. Oh btw, during this time (the current time, 309 years later), the people has began (begun?) worshiping the teachings of Allah widely, this includes the King himself. So, he became inquisitive, to see if Thamlika** was saying the truth or not, the King asked Thamlika to show him his house. So, Thamlika**, with the help of Allah, find his way and directed them to his old house. With full excitement, after seeing the house Thamlika said "Thats my house!".


However, there, a very old man lived in the house. One of the guards who followed Thamlika** asked the man if he knew Thamlika**. He said he doesnt. He said the house has been his from his grandfathers and great great grandfathers. The guards called Thamlika** a liar but he said he can prove that in the house there's a safe which he kept and only he knows where it is. So they all went inside the house and Thamlika** showed them where he hid his safe. And in there, they found the money with King Decius's name on it (or sumthng that indicates King Decius's ruling) . Suddenly the old man cried into tears and said: "Yes, this house was owned by Thamlika**. Thamlika** is my great great grandfather who has escaped from this town with some other men from King Decius ruling to obey Allah's command and preserve their Imaan. I have heard this story and it has been sent down from generations to generations. I just cant believe that I am able to see him now". SubhanAllah


Happy and surprised, the King then asked about his other friends and asked if he could meet them all. Thamlika** told him they are all hiding in the cave. So the King and some followers made their way to the cave. Thamlika** however went into the cave first to tell the story that had happened upon him at the town to his "gang" (lol). They were all so amazed and grateful and happy and everything when they heard it!! And their Imaan got even stronger. :) After telling the whole story, it was like their "mission" on earth has ended. All of them peacefully died instantly at that moment.

The King and others that followed waited long outside the cave, wondering what had happened. Thamlika** never appeared again. So, they went into the cave and saw them all dead (the dog too). Sad and happy tears fell down their cheeks and they prayed to God AlMighty for "this chance" and then build a tomb at the cave as a reminder to the people about Allah's Powers via the 7 sleepers.


The End.


Frankly, if I was there, of course I'd be grateful and feel fortunate and all to see all these things happening before me but I'll be more terrified.. I'll be like.."oh no...is the world about to end.........? The good good people are dead.......Now the remaining ones are people like meeeeeee........... :S .. "

Anyway, in the Quran there's a Surah called Surah AlKahf which tells us about the story. If not mistaken there are some ayats about them in other surahs too but am not very sure about that..sometimes, I browse the Quran like the magazine..i see words but i dun connect them to anything..lol..i noe.. thats pretty bad of me..oh well..i said "sometimes"...cz other times i dun read it at all...looool!! just kidding!! hahaha.. but yeah.. i think i should study it more often..

I'm sleepy... just finished having lunch...i think am gonna take a nap for a bit...

oh btw, am sorry if the story is a bit inaccurate and if my language is worse. Let me noe if there's anything wrong with the story ya! tq . I know there's also a christian and roman version of it too. This is just from a book. And its an islamic book so, I'd say this is the Islamic version of the story....?

The People of the Cave PART 1

I'd like to share with you a story on one of the books I read during my stay in Singapore. Its about the Seven Sleepers.

SubhanAllah.. Just about a few days before I left for Singapore, a friend and I were discussing about the story of the seven sleepers (also known as the people of the cave or "Ashabul Kahf"). We were arguing about the time when the event happened. But neither of us found a conclusion and we carried on talking bout other topics (in other words...neither of us checked the net or asked sumone else bout it after that).

Good for me, I found the book regarding the subject at my uncle's place....nyaa.. :3


What I'm about to write might not be 100% as what its written in the book. I might miss a few infos. Here goes!


The story of the AK (Ashabul Kahf) began at the time of King Decius dictation. There were many opinions on where the location took place, some say in Syria some say in Jordan. Anyway, King Decius had 6 cousin, one whose name is Thamlika.


One night while Thamlika's brothers were falling asleep, Thamlika was thinking to himself, if King Decius was really God as he claimed himself to be. King Decius was not the one who created the stars and the moon, he's just a mere human being with power on the land they're living in, so he thought there might be a more superior being than King Decius that created the whole universe.


Thamlika then asked his brothers; " Who is your God?" They answered : "King Decius is". Thamlika asked them again; "Was it King Decius who created the moon and the stars at night? or the food you eat? (etc etc) They answered "No". Thamlika then asked them all together to pray to the God who created those things.


So from that day onwards, all the 6 guys prayed to the God AlMighty at night as to keep it down from King Decius but during the day they served the King. Satan got to know about this, so he then told King Decius about the worship of another God by the 6 brothers. The King then called them to forth the next day. He asked "Who do you worship?" Thamlika and the others answered " We worship the one who fill us from our hunger and give us shelter at night (etc etc) . King Decius thought nothing was wrong with that since he(King Decius) was the one who feed them food and give them shelter. So, he let them go.


Thamlika and his 5 brothers continue to worship God AlMighty during night time and satan was not pleased. He then told King Decius again about the 6 brothers worshiping God AlMighty and told him that they worship Him during the night. So King Decius called them again. King Decius asked if he (King Decius) was God to them. Thamlika then asked: "Were you the one who created the stars at night the universe, the hills, the food water etc etc?"
And King Decius was like "No". Thamlika then replied;" Well, we have been worshiping the God who created those things for us". Ashamed and angry, King Decius sentenced them to the prison. (. . . to be hanged maybe? I forgot...)


Almohem, they were put in prison first. One day King Decius and his comrades had to go out of the city for a few days, so they kept the gate of the city closed. A night before that, Angel Jibrail (Gabriel) came to Thamlika's dream in a form of a boy. He was playing a "round thing" happily. He said something that had given the idea on how they can escape out of the city.


The next day, knowing that King Decius was out of town, Thamlika then persuaded the prison guard to let them go, saying that they are of good people and they just want to meet their families for the last time and will come back the next day. Furthermore, the gate was full of guards and it had been closed so they couldnt possibly just go out of the city like that. Knowing their family background and how good they are, the guard let him out but told them to come back the next day. So they were freemen for a day.


However, instead of going back to their families, Thamlika made that "round thing" just as he saw in his dreams. [In modern days that round thing is called "a ball".. (lol...seriously)] He then started kicking it. His actions were observed by his brothers and they started playing together. (I am not sure if they all played the same ball or they made themselves their own). [This is the first ball game ever played recorded in history (according to the book)]. So they were playing in the city and all the town people got excited and engross with the newly profound game. They were like hypnotized just watching the game. Little do they know that actually Thamlika and his brothers had a plan to make their escape from the town. They kicked the ball towards the gate and the gate opened. But the people didnt realize the plan as they were giving so much attention to the game. So they thought thats a part of the game. They played until they were far from the town and from the eyes of the people.


Now thats what you call the Great Escape! cz u have fun along the way..ngehe... =3


So they escaped and basically was running away from Decius. Along the way, they met with a shepherd and his dog. The shepherd then told them that he was also the believer of God AlMighty and wanted to join on their venture together with his dog. At first the 6 brothers was not that eager to let the shepherd bring along his dog because the dog might bring their enemies to find them. But miraculously, by God's will, the dog spoke in human language and said that he'll protect them instead.


So went together until they were so tired and needed to rest. They found a cave and agreed to take a nap. A "nap" which took 300 / 309 years.......

A friend sent me an article recenty about a student giving out his distraught-ful opinion on a so-called “Islamic” University. From the article, it is learnt that this student is very upset and disappointed with the behavior of most of the Muslim students there due to their low morale and ‘the-Muslim-by-name-Kafir-by-body’ attitude.

As I read through the article, trying to put myself in his shoes...I have realized one thing…:

WE HAVE DIFFERENT SHOE SIZE. :S

I don’t know how Islam was being taught to him, because all I can see is that, Islam came to me in a different approach. A glimpse of the teachings of Islam from what I have learnt is that: we are not to call bad names to people, we are not allowed to make fun or disrespect other religions, and that no one has any authorization enough to say if a person is to go to hell or stay in paradise. There are clues in the Quran and Hadeeth of the people who MIGHT go to heaven or hell but it’s not up to us to decide who and who stays where. That’s God’s thang.

Muslim students are not enclosed only to the people who call themselves “ane, ente”…(-_-")… So as to the associations like WUFI and ADQ (JUST as examples) . It’s not that if you are not in those societies you are less a muslim than those people are. Enough with the “holier than thou” attitude. Its time to open your mind.

I heard somewhere (cant recall the source) that a prison guard said that the faces of the hanged prisoners looked more peaceful, more clearer, than an ordinary deceased person’s body. She said that, maybe its due to the fact that prisoners who were to be hung know when they’ll die. They have been given a fixed date for it. Knowing that their death will come soon, they tend to really repent to God. As Muslims, we have to be confident that God will always forgive those who repent as He is the Most Gracious and Most MERCIFUL. So, I bet what the prison guard (guardess?-it’s a “she”) was trying to say is that; the end result is the most important thing. It doesn’t matter how bad you WERE, if you REPENT, God’ll forgive you. ( Amen to that.). Rather than ordinary people, who takes things for granted in life and plans to “increase” their ibadah to God once their old; not knowing they’ll actually die tomorrow…kay…maybe..day after tomorrow.. Now, I’m scared… =S… I hate death… =( .. I wish death dies… permanently and eternally!!! hihi.. :P

Sooo dear “Pak Haji”, instead of condemning, telling people about how bad those students are, I think you should better make some prayers to them to become better persons. It’s better than to tell everyone about their bad points. No point as well.. Stressing yourself more, make people hate you, make people hate Islam…because of you. Nyyaaaa.. :3… Have a nice day! And be less angry.. Its not good hitting on your keyboard so hard. :) . Smile… kan sedekah.. :)

From my point view, a good muslim is not measured by how well he knows his religion, but how much he practices it.

I may know a lot about genetics but that doesn’t make me a good geneticist when I have never applied my knowledge anywhere. To be good at something, you need experience.

What I mean by the word “experience” above is not of the things that you’ve done in the past such as your glory, your faults, etc. Moreover, it’s by experiencing the determination of “moving towards to becoming a good muslim”.


To me, Quran verses are never to condemn anyone; be it to the believers or non-believers..(Justin Beliebers? :D). The intentions in each ayat are not to make one feel distress or angry, but to make us feel challenged. Challenged to what They have dared. They tell us to do good and we are then told that the results will be as such. And if we do bad, penalties are as such and such. The consequences of the dares are told beforehand. It’s a book of guidance. Dare to do good or to be bad, you bear the consequences yourself.


I don’t mind if anyone wants to use any ayat Quran or hadeeth to correct others. But I think the best way to show it is by leading the example. If you start preaching about something but you aren’t even following your preaches, then it’ll be hard for people like me to take the advice from you. Because I won’t see any correlations between the two. And frankly, it irritates me. Ngehehe..:P ..If you want to preach the opposite of what you’re doing , then after you preach, stop doing it instantly. Then only I can be like “whoa…that’s awezome…”


I like it when someone shares their opinion in a way that their intention is to share their knowledge and not to show off what they know-(in a mean arrogant way). Some people I observe like to slam others using ayat Quran/ hadeeth without knowing the asbab ul nuzul and without having great knowledge of what they are saying. They only know the surface of the story and they use some verses/hadeeth and start preaching like they’re God. Come on man. You’re just a small fry who reads a book or two. To acquire knowledge, you need good teachers too. (it rhymes!)


Be humble in sharing knowledge. That’s the moral story of my post today. That’s what I intend to say. And a reminder to all (including me): even if you have repented, don’t criticize someone who has not. You were in their shoes once. Instead of condemning, why not show some love and care?

You have the most wonderful voice ever in the world mashaAllah. The voice is small yet serene. Whenever I’m bored listening to my GLEE and Chris Brown’s songs in my playlist, I’ll always turn to you.

Eventhough it’s the same surah; over and over again. I’ll never get bored. I swear I play it not just at night to make me go to sleep (actually coz I’m scared of the legends of the hostel ghosts .. hahaha.. joking :P), but also when I want the time for myself.

Its calming just to hear your voice. And sometimes it sounds so cute! Chipmunks voices are annoying, yours is not. I swear to God. And you don’t even need to collaborate with AKON or ANYONE to make me like any of your recitations. Seriously.

Furthermore, you make it easier for me to memorize some surahs in the Quran due to your amazing voice and tune. I feel more eager to read the Quran more often and to play around with my recitation with your tone. (haha.. yeah.. I can be THAT lame..I still like to play 'pretending-to-be'up til today XP)

Ever wondered why many Muslims like greeting ‘Jumuah Mubarakah’ every Friday?

Ever tried to ask or never even bothered to?

Ahaha! Now that you got yourself clicked the link (which leads to my blog) you have no choice but to know about it! (nyehnyeh.. u got into my trap!)

I know that I am only acquainted with just a little knowledge about the day; ‘Friday’. But, that small quarter of information I have on Fridays is enough for me to be thankful that I am still being given the chance to embrace God’s Grace on this blissful day.

When I was a kid, I used to hate Fridays. I don’t know if its due to the geography of the place I lived in (my house was situated right opposite the beach, a place called “Chendering”), but Friday has always been HOT!

And the smell of Friday is like vomit. And the Ustazah who teaches my sisters and I Quran will come in the evening. What a bore…I hate to see her thin cane..Felt like being treated like a cattle..(but i love her :D)

The only reason why I loved Friday when I was a kid, was for the Bollywood movies they showed on TV2 and the fact that my dad doesn’t have to go to his clinic in the evening.

However, as I grew older, I’ve learnt to appreciate Fridays more. Honestly, it took a ‘looong’ while. Haha.

So, what’s so great about Friday again?

I was born on that day! And my mom will cook Arabic food. And my house will have the nice smell of bakhour (it smells no more of vomit :P) ^_^… No, seriously Ameera, other than “it’s all about your world”

Other than that, comes the Islamic view on why Friday is special.

Abu Lubaabah ibn ‘Abd al-Mundhir (r.a) said the Prophet (s.a.w) said:

“Friday is the master of days, and the greatest of them before Allah. It is greater before Allah than the day of Al-Adha and the day of Al-Fitr. It has five characteristics:
- Allah created Adam (a.s)
- Allah sent Adam (a.s) down to the earth
- Allah caused Adam (a.s) to die
- a time when a person does not ask Allah for anything but He gives it but not asking for anything haraam
- the Hour will begin.
There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain and no sea that does not fear Friday.”

(Ibn Maajah, 1084)

Al-Sanadi said “They fear Friday” means they fear the onset of the Hour. This indicates that all created beings are aware of the days and they know that the Day of Resurrection will come on a Friday.

Regarding to the day of resurrection, and the different days by other Religion of the Book, It was narrated that Abu Hurairah and Hudhaifah (r.a) said the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:

“Allah led those who came before us away from Friday. The Jews had Saturday, and the Christians had Sunday. Then Allah brought us and Allah guided us to Friday. So there is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and thus they will follow us on the Day of Resurrection. We are the last of the people of this world but we will be the first on the Day of Resurrection, and we will be dealt with before all others.”

(Muslim, 856)

It is the day with which Allaah has exclusively favoured this ummah, and from which He led the People of the Book astray before them, as it says in al-Saheeh, where it is narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“The sun has never risen or set on any day better than Friday. Allaah guided us to it and led the people away from it. The people are behind us in this respect. It (Friday) is for us, Saturday is for the Jews and Sunday is for the Christians.”

(Narrated by Ahmad, 10305, classed as saheeh by Ibn Khuzaymah, 3/114).

From what I know, Friday is a day full of barakah. Its like God is having a “blessing/reward GIVEAWAY of the week” for us. Furthermore, Friday is the only day I know which has it’s own Surah in the Quran (And I memorized it! Nyehehe *proud* aHaHaHa !! u guys r LOSERS! :P hihi jk!! I dun mean it..)

Once we know why Fridays special, then we ourselves will come to realize that Fridays should not be taken for granted and insyaAllah we shall make use of the day fully.

When I was little, my ustazah used to bait me saying that every time, if I do good on Fridays, my reward will double up. Hmm.. I don’t know whether its true or she’s just saying it but it made me feel motivated to be rascal-less (lol, is there even a word?).

Some other virtues would be (this is taken from a link) (if ur tired, just read the highlighted words. The others are just elaboration):

1. – In Fajr prayer, on Friday recite the Soorahs (al-Sajdah, no. 32) and (al-Insaan, no. 76).

2. – It is mustahabb (recommended) to send lots of blessings upon the Prophet SAWS on the day of Friday and the night before, because he said: “Send lots of blessings upon me on Friday and the night before.” (Narrated by al-Bayhaqi, 3/249; classed as saheeh (sound) by al-Arna’oot).

3. –The people of Paradise will be brought closer (to Allaah) on the Day of Resurrection and they will see Allaah sooner, commensurate with how close they were to the imam on the day of Jumu’ah and how early they came to Jumu’ah prayers.

4. – The command to do ghusl (take a bath for the purpose of purification) on Friday; this command is most emphatic,and Wearing perfume on Friday; this is better than wearing perfume on any other day of the week. And wear the best clothes one has on Friday. Imaam Ahmad narrated in his Musnad that Abu Ayyoob said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘Whoever takes a bath on Friday, puts on perfume if he has some, wears his best clothes then goes out , walking in a dignified manner until he reaches the mosque, then he prostrates in prayer if he wants and does not disturb anybody, then he remains quiet until the imaam comes out and he prays, that will be an expiation from one Friday to the next.’” (Narrated by Ahmad in al-Musnad, 23059; classed as hasan by al-Ana’oot).

5. – Cleaning the teeth with the siwaak (tooth stick); this is better than using the siwaak on any other day.

6. – Going to the prayers early.

7. – Keeping oneself busy with prayer, dhikr (remembering Allaah) and reading Qur’aan until the imaam comes out to give the khutbah (sermon).

8. – Listening attentively to the khutbah.

9. – Reading Soorat al-Kahf (no. 18) during the day of Friday. It was narrated that the Prophet SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on a Friday, light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine on him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven from one Friday to the next.” (Narrated by al-Haakim, 2/368; classed as saheeh by al-Arna’oot).

10. – On Friday there is the “hour of response” which is an hour in which no Muslim asks Allaah for something but He will grant it. In al-Saheehayn it is narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘On Friday there is an hour in which no Muslim asks for something whilst he is standing in prayer, but it will be given to him” – and he demonstrated the shortness of that time with his hands. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 883; Muslim, 1406).

Those are the lucky three. But I bet there are lots more other sites, maybe better than this.

If I were a guy, I would be more grateful that there’s Friday. This is because, they have lots more advantages in getting rewards than women on that day. Well actually, its just the same and a woman’s job is easier but its not as ‘sophisticated’ as men’s job for getting the reward.

Its like; we do this and that = yeay reward. Its free.

Unlike guys; they go to the mosque early +Friday prayers = get reward. It’s done with effort and it looks so pro!

Hmmm… but to think of going every Friday to the mosque …

..

*blekh*.. i take back my words.. I hardly go for my tilawah class on Thursdays let alone something like Friday prayer.. hihi.. I’m happy to be a WOMAN!

An-Naba
(The Great News)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Concerning what are they disputing? (1)

Concerning the Great News, (2)

About which they cannot agree. (3)

Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! (4)

Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! (5)

Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, (6)

And the mountains as pegs? (7)

And (have We not) created you in pairs, (8)

And made your sleep for rest, (9)

And made the night as a covering, (10)

And made the day as means of subsistence? (11)

And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, (12)

And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? (13)

And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, (14)

That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, (15)

And gardens of luxurious growth? (16)

Verily the Day of Sorting Out is a thing appointed― (17)

The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; (18)

And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, (19)


And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. (20)


Truly Hell is as a place of ambush― (21)

For the transgressors a place of destination: (22)

They will dwell therein for ages. (23)

Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, (24)

Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold― (25)

A fitting recompense (for them). (26)

For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), (27)

But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. (28)

And all things have We preserved on record. (29)

"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." (30)



Verily for the righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the Heart's) desires; (31)

Gardens enclosed, and Grape-vines; (32)

Companions of Equal Age; (33)

And a Cup full (to the Brim). (34)

No Vanity shall they hear therein, nor Untruth― (35)

Recompense from thy Lord, a Gift, (amply) sufficient― (36)

(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between― (Allah) Most Gracious:― none shall have power to argue with Him. (37)



The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand forth in ranks, none shall speak except any who is permitted by (Allah) Most Gracious, and he will say what is right. (38)

That Day will be the sure Reality: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) Return to his Lord! (39)

Verily, We have warned you of a Penalty near― the Day when man will see (the Deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the Unbeliever will say "Woe unto me! Would that I were (mere) dust!" (40)

Is it me? or the usage of certain sayings like : "InsyaAllah" and "Alhamdulilah" has been misused in Malaysia??

Its sad on how some people can put religion as a joke. Mild joke is okay, to me. But jokes that mocks are not okay; to me.

Last Ramadhan, I saw a banner at a pub in Kuantan, Pahang which says: "Berbuka Puasa Special" and another pub in KL was also offering 2 free alcoholic drinks as Ramadhan promotion.

First of all, dont they know that Muslims are not suppose to drink alcohol in the first place and not only when they are FASTING? Fyi, when we are fasting we cant even DRINK COLD MINERAL WATER.

And what do they mean by "Berbuka Puasa Special"?? Well, they might serve halal food but the surrounding is still not.

And to me the best promotion they could actually offer is not the "free alcoholic drinks" but the "NO ENTRY" sign for all muslims.


Sometimes, it makes me wonder if one fasts for the culture or the religion.

I'd want to share with you a story:
( p/s:I might get some facts wrong, it was a long time ago story, but the jeez of the story is in it)

An uncle of mine shared a story once, about his trip to one of the Europoean countries where he and one of his colleagues; a muslim, were searching for a restaurant to break their fast. And this particular colleague of his INSISTED that they go to a place whereby it does not serve pork as a dish. Anyway, to cut the story short, after hours of searching, they found a restaurant with HALAL eating meat (meat slaughtered by the Jews, Christians or Muslims *people of the book*). So his friend, ordered a ribeye steak and confirmed with the waiter that its Kosher meat. Yes, it was.

And to complete his meal, he then ordered a sparkling red wine.

What the heck?? Thats just perfectly stupid.

He's so scared of eating pork thinking that it's forbidden for us Muslims but never bear in mind that to drink or even ORDER wine is forbidden when you are a muslim? Just because the word

"BABI" - pig;

is a taboo word among the Malays, he refused to eat it. This is totally the joke of the century!


Well, anyway, today, I read someone's status and she said something like

"Alhamdulillah, today I am finally legal to go clubbing! Thanks Abah. Zouk! Here I come!!"

Hmm.... Thats awkward...Dont you think the text above is a bit weird? If you want to express your happiness, I really understand; but please put away the 'Alhamdulillah'. Its really mocking my religion as in Islam, we are told to stay away from places that will lead us to adultery, ma'siat and things that will astray us from God.

hmm hmmm..

Its not that I'm always writing; to tell you about other people's faults. Many of the posts are actually a reminder to myself. I have tonnes of mistakes and I keep on making them; no doubt. And I share my mistakes on my blogs too but in a form of reminding. (So, i wouldn't look as bad.. hihi). But my point of writing is to share about the experience that I see and maybe it might help you and me to think wisely in any ways.
(And I'm truly trying my best to become a better and not repeat my mistakes (if there's any..lool.joking..i have loads!! i swear!!), so plz pray for me. thanx)

This morning was a really boring day as I had been left alone in the house while others went out to make their hair! Hmmph! So what i did the whole morning was browsing the net to check out news at Yahoo!, download John Mayer's pictures *loves* and etc.

Among the "etc-s" was this article I came across with; regarding Solah(prayers).

Yes, I do realize that this has not been my first post on this topic. But I'd like to re-discuss about it JUST as a reminder to me, you and everyone who's interested.

Arghh.. sometimes, I feel a bit discouraged on wanting to write about these kinda things basically religious stuff . It's because I do not want you to have the idea that I'm an angel (okay, this is a bit overexxegrative lol) .

What I mean to say is, I'm not that good either. I have missed a few prayers myself . And that is why I keep on writing about these kinda things, you know, so that I remind myself alongside sharing good things with others. Its not like I'm SUBJECTING YOU TO PRAY BECAUSE OMG, I LIKE, NEVER MISSED A PRAYER IN MY LIFE, AND SOME OF YOU ARE OH SO STUPID COZ YOU NEVER TOOK PRAYERS SERIOUSLY AND NOW THAT YOU HAVE READ MY BLOG, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FOLLOW MY FOOTSTEPS or something like dat...

(mm.. maybe no one actually thought about it like that... argh i'm paranoid!)

Anyway, again as a reminder to myself and you; prayers are very important. We need to try our best to not miss it. I took this from an article of a website. Its a sahih hadeeth narrated by Hurayth ibn Qubaysah, saying :

“I came to Madeenah and prayed, ‘O Allaah, send me a righteous companion.’
I went and sat with Abu Hurayrah and said: ‘I asked Allaah to bless me with a
righteous companion; tell me a hadeeth that you heard from the Messenger of
Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), so that I may benefit
therefrom.’

He said: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) say that the first thing for which a person will be brought
to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayer. If it is sound, he
will be successful, and if it is lacking in any way, he will be doomed. If his
obligatory prayers are lacking, the Lord will say: “Look and see whether My
slave has any voluntary prayers which may be used to make up what is lacking in
his obligatory prayers.” Then all his deeds will be examined and dealt with in
the same way.’”

(Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no. 413; see also Saheeh al-Jaami’, 2020).

While some of us might ask ourselves: "Hmmm... well.. I cant turn back time, can I? So happens now that I've missed some?"

Well, there's another hadith that might spare us quoting :

Abu Dawood reported from Anas ibn Hakeem al-Dabbi that he came to Madeenah
and met Abu Hurayrah. He said: “He asked me about my lineage so I told him about
it, then he said: ‘O young man, shall I not tell you a hadeeth?’ I said, ‘Of
course, may Allaah have mercy on you,’ and I think he mentioned it from the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

He said: ‘The first thing that people will be asked about on the Day of
Resurrection will be their prayers. Our Lord will say to His angels (although He
knows best): “Look at My slave’s prayers: are they complete or is something
lacking?” If they are complete, they will be recorded as such, but if something
is lacking, He will say: “Look and see if My slave has any voluntary
prayers to his credit.” If this proves to be the case, He will say: “Make up his
(missing) obligatory prayers with his voluntary prayers.” Then the rest of his
deeds will be dealt with in the same manner.’” (Saheeh al-Jaami’, 2571)

In other words, increase our sunnah prayers. Solat tahajjud, Solat Tawbah and etc. Oh btw, do you know that according to another article I read on another website, it says that:

Multiple intentions are valid for voluntary prayers; they have greater reward
then a single intention, but less reward than performing each prayer separately.

So, if you think you can only afford to pray one sunnah prayer at that time, why dont you multiple your intension? Nothing to lose, right? Actually, you should really check out that link. Its kinda interesting.

Now, lets go a biiiiiiiiiiit deeper and discuss about one particular voluntery prayer: Solah Tawbah (the prayer of repentance) .

I bet everyone is familiar with this solah right? I'm not gonna talk particularly about the solah (haha! gotcha!) but more towards our view on it. But if your interested in learning more about it, please visit : (http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/98030 ) .

Have you ever heard from, I dunno, maybe some of your friends(or you yourself) who'd say something like : " Its okay, let me do this thing first( i.e:gossip). I'll pray solat tawbah tonight. "

And the next day, there you are , seeing yourself doing the same thing all over again.

Personally, from my point of view, I dont think God meant that you can keep doing whatever sins you want and after you pray solah tawbah you'll be forgiven. To me, that's a joke! It encourages someone to do more sins, coz they know whatever it is, they'll be forgiven once they asked for repentence.

I think one's sin would be forgiven if that person REALLY REALLY repent and TRY his BEST to NOT make the SAME mistakes again. But God is forgiving, so we might have a chance that He'd forgive us again and again for the same mistakes.

But you know, you cant fool God. He knows our real intention. So, if you wanna make a joke outta yourself carry on pretending to repent. :)

I'm visiting Indonesia for a week (be home by the 3rd of Dec). Please pray for the health and safety of my family and I while we are there. *EXCITED!*

I understand, we human tend to make mistakes over and over again but its our intention that's most important. If we have tried but fail to achieve, then try again. :). And in order to better ourselves and to prevent ourselves from doing sins, we are adviced to increase our ibadah n good deeds.(i.e: Quran recitation, charity etc) With that, the thought of God in our mind will never perish.
