Girls, lets stop being shallow?

.

I have a habit of looking at the mirror for hours. I’m no Beauty Queen nor am I even the 5th runner up of Miss Ohio beauty Pageant (lol..Glee). I just love to act out and see how my face will show on other people’s eyes. Sometimes, I act as if I’m in an interview on a political crisis in Malaysia. Other times, I become the performer who sings while flirting with her audience. My mom thinks I’m wasting my time mesmerizing my (Alhamdulillah) not so bad looking face ( when I’m actually building up my charisma, mom!).. Hehe.. :P But Mama’s advices are always trapped here (points to head). Mom would constantly tell me to not live on my beauty.

“ Beauty is not only looked upon on the way you look. What’s the point if you have a beautiful face but with bad morale? With that attitude, people won’t even take a glance at your face.”

or

“You can’t feed your husband’s belly by only showing your pretty face. Life doesn’t work that way. How beautiful you are, you should not just depend your life on that; unless you are ready to be called beauty-fool.”( yes, my mom’s words are pretty lame..but they somehow get stuck in my head)

What she says however, is true. Women who are beautiful should take their beauty as just a slight advantage, rather than something to be portentous about.

Beauty is skin deep. To me, what’s more important to a beautiful face is our Akhlak. That’s where the true beauty lies. I find someone attractive by the way her akhlak is. According to a friend of mine, he said:

quote

“ Meer, you can introduce me to 100 gorgeous, sexy, city girls, in the heart of Jakarta and I won’t lie, I will definitely be attracted to all of them but that’s it for them, in the end; all I want is someone who can be a wife, not a girlfriend material. I’ll seek for someone who stays home at night and watch DVD with family. I don’t want to have a wife who dresses herself up more than she takes care of me. Easy.”

End quote.

He is not just the only guy who shared THAT same point of view with me. There are other few. Well, not exactly similar, but adequately comparable. (The reason why I quote from him is because he just said it like 2 weeks ago; not that I favor him more..:PP...k..maybe I dun really have to explain this.. :-S)

What I’m trying to say is; we girls can make ourselves up with the Paris Hilton look, dress up like Britney Spears but in the end, all that matters is your behavior and attitude towards ourselves and our lives. As long as we engrave good akhlak in us, being kind to others and not bxtch around about them, respect ourselves by dressing properly, be confident of what we are; to me, that more than enough to make me consider a person beautiful.

Hmm...I want to be beautiful too. Therefore, I gotto start being a good girl, say only good things about others, be confident and not just depend on my parents good looks inheritance. :D

And to all Dolly Parton fans, we will all get old too someday. We will have wrinkles, it’s a part of nature to be old. Let’s not get too frantic about our future n start getting massive plastic surgeries.

end.
